Between now and 2027, 6.3 million Americans will retire each year. By 2050, the number of people who are 65 and older will outnumber those younger than 18.
Aging is one of the most defining trends of our time. At no point in the last several hundred years has a country's population become so old so fast. For middle-aged people, it means more caretaking responsibilities. For young people, it means more employment opportunities, but also higher taxes.
In this series, we dive into some of these trends and discuss ways that we can all thrive in an older, but equally vibrant America.
